The Pro·tect Pro Vest is our latest update to the protective vest for hunting dogs. It shields your dog from dense brush and rough terrain while keeping it warm thanks to Fir-Skin technology, which reflects the dog's own body heat. The vest can be used both on land and in water.

Sizes are available for spaniels, labradors, and other larger breeds. The most important measurement is the chest circumference, which should be taken approximately 4 cm behind the front leg.

The back length provides an indication of the typical body length for dogs in that size category, while the waist measurement can be used to ensure that the vest isn’t too tight.

IMPORTANT: For optimal protection, the vest should fit snugly against the body. At first glance, it may look a bit tight around the belly, but after about 10 minutes, the material will expand slightly. However, it should not rub under the front legs.

How to check the fit

The vest is designed to fit closely to minimize the risk of branches and twigs getting caught while the dog is working in the field. However, the snug fit may sometimes cause wear under the front legs—especially if the dog runs vigorously over longer periods, which is more common in Labradors than in Spaniels.

It’s a good idea to regularly check under your dog’s “armpits,” particularly if your dog isn’t used to wearing work gear. A proper size and fit reduce the risk of chafing and ensure maximum comfort.

  1. There should be 2 cm of space between the front leg and the vest on each side.
  2. Under the belly, there should also be 2 cm of space between the front leg and the vest on each side.

If there’s less space, there’s a risk that the vest may chafe your dog.
